SITE Network Launches Global Tourism Initiative project in Collaboration with Enjin Blockchain
We are delighted to share the news that MTA founding member Graeme Stevens has launched an ambitious virtual tourism project with his co-founders called SITE Network.
SITE Network is a global project aimed at revolutionizing the tourism industry. This initiative integrates Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies to offer a new way of exploring the world, in partnership with Enjin Blockchain. According to SITE Network, the project connects users with premier destinations, providing authentic digital exploration experiences.
SITE Network’s latest venture, valued at $39 billion, includes the development of several major virtual worlds that mirror real-world locations. Among these is Metinburgh, a virtual replica of Edinburgh, Scotland, with its first digital segment focusing on Castlehill at the base of Edinburgh Castle. Another virtual world, Mayaverse, brings the ancient Mayan civilization to life.
Reviving Culture and History Through Virtual Worlds
The project aims to vividly portray diverse cultures and histories. Metahattan, another virtual environment, captures the vibrant culture of New York City. This initiative is executed in collaboration with Parallel Worlds and supported by a range of partners dedicated to bringing these virtual sites to life.
Advanced Technology and Interoperability
Parallel Worlds and SITE Network are utilizing patented technology from their partner MRKD, enabling the creation of interoperable, rights-verified, and authenticated digital objects. Users can earn these digital objects and use them across SITE Network’s various virtual worlds.
Integration with NFC Technology
SITE Network is also working with New York Culture Club (NYCC), a leader in NFC technology, to incorporate tokenized items into their digital environments. NYCC has been influential in events like New York Fashion Week and has ventured into the music industry with NFC-enabled, tokenized vinyl records.
Enhancing Real-World Tourism with Virtual Experiences
SITE Network’s virtual tourism project is designed to encourage real-world travel by offering unique, interactive elements. The virtual worlds created by SITE Network are expected to draw people to actual destinations while providing enriched experiences that help preserve travel memories. Users can engage with interactive features, such as touch-responsive artifacts and guided tours, to bring historical sites to life.
This innovative approach by SITE Network not only enhances the travel experience but also promotes the preservation and appreciation of cultural and historical sites around the world.
As an advisor to the project MTA Founder Lisa Gibbons understands the vision and potential, “SITEnetwork is ahead of its time and demonstrating the future of travel. By seamlessly merging the digital and physical realms, SITE Network’s project redefines the boundaries of the ways in which we explore places today. As we move towards a hybrid future, tourists will have much more inclusive, accessible and augmented ways to experience culture,” she says.
Congratulations to Graeme, his co-founders and the wider Enjin team. We look forward to following all of the project updates.
